BigChampagne Online Media Measurement is a privately held company, headquartered in California with offices in Beverly Hills and Atlanta, GA. BigChampagne was founded by a small group of seasoned professionals from the technology, market research, and entertainment businesses.
BigChampagne is a funny name for a media measurement company that doesn't produce a bubbly beverage, but we're very serious about popular media and the tens of millions of people who get their music, movies, games and other entertainment online.
BigChampagne provides Billboard with online music charts for the Radio Monitor.
The company was founded in 2000 as a technology-driven market research firm, specializing in peer-to-peer (P2P) networks, but today BigChampagne is a nexus for intelligence about media consumption. We aggregate and analyze information about media consumption of all types, and from a variety of sources.We started out waaaay back when, focusing on the original Napster (remember them?), but today we also incorporate information about a wide variety of download and "streaming" music and video online, traditional radio, traditional "bricks and mortar" retail, and more.
In short, we collect information about how and where people enjoy popular music, movies and other stuff, and then we analyze the information to tell you what titles are most popular, who's interested, and why.
